My name is Josh Kary. I’m married to Julie and have two kids, Amelia and Carson. I also have the privilege of being on staff as an Associate Pastor at Calvary Grace Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The Lord graciously “broke up the fallow ground” (Jeremiah 4:3), converting me to faith in Christ when I was a young boy. He used many faithful people to sow the seed which eventually took root.

Speaking of roots, my rural roots run deep. I grew up on a farm and spent my days and nights doing what farmers do: cultivating, planting, waiting, reaping and feeding cattle in between all that. I anticipated that this would be my lot in life. But the Lord providentially directed my paths to tend full-time to a different field – His Church (1 Cor. 3:9).

In January of 2015, we packed our bags and headed south to Louisville, Kentucky for theological training. I graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2018. During our time down south, we became members of Immanuel Baptist Church where I also completed a three year pastoral apprenticeship.

On this site you’ll find some of my personal reflections on a variety of topics. Theologically, I am Reformed and Baptistic. Politically, I land somewhere significantly to the right of most Canadians. My interests include theology, politics, agriculture, and the great outdoors.
